QESTLab™ v3.3 released

(6 October 2011) Spectra QEST announced that QESTLab™ v3.3 went live with several major customer sites in the last month. The new release contains dozens of new features and enhancements designed to allow organisations to further improve the management of their laboratories.

QESTLab™, the world’s leading Laboratory Information Management System for Construction Materials Testing, has taken another step forward today, with the release of QESTLab™ v3.3.

Features added in this latest version include:

Technician Competency
The ability to assign various competency levels for technicians and to bind these competencies to permissions. Management of competency renewal will be in a similar fashion to managing equipment calibrations.

Work Templates
Work Templates now allow for the full templating functionality for common work packages, including sample counts, testing patterns and default values. This feature will help further reduce sample registration time for repetitive activities.

Equipment Register and Calibration Schedule
The equipment register and equipment calibration screens have been enhanced to allow for calibration screens that involve raw data entry and calculations (business logic) in the same way that test methods are implemented. In QESTLab 3.3 the Nuclear Density Gauge calibration will be implemented using this new capability. This change will also open the possibility for improved calibration history reporting for accreditation audits.

Reportable Custom Fields
Custom Fields can now be reported on Material reports. A “report” property has been made available for Custom Field Sets.

New Filters
Lists, Equipment, Specifications, Reports & Charts, People & Roles are now all returned via filters and support user configurable filter nodes in the tree. This will make it much faster to find configuration items you need to view or change.

Speed Improvements
Application load time has been significantly as has the loading and saving of all documents and in particular external documents.

In addition, there are many other new features and core improvements, as well as new screens for over 60 additional test methods, including Australian Standards, ASTM, AASHTO, RTA and TxDOT.
